notes app poem

by Scout Faller

stained as we are with forgetting. sitting like an
idiot and with your one spoken language,
american english, a poorly fitted coat. hair flat, face to
the sun like you knew all her names before addressing her.
dripping with the exigence, a snotty bitch—reaching for
the coffee cup in a way that implies you're well read.
clutch with red lizard skin on gold hardware. lime kiln
road, dew drop inn. the nose of your car, assed out in traffic.

deleteful as we are. nosed with the ass out and forgetting. snotty
for the coffee cup, the sun well read and speaking one american
english. dripping with lime in our hair, pretty in a lizard skin, kilns
are all namely idiots and clutched in gold address. trafficked
for a stain. addressed to the exigence. implications of a
coat, knowingly, bitchy as it sits. names of dew drops drips inn.
An abstract portrait of a girl missing her eyes, painted in yellows, pinks, and blues.
