📣 Calling all writers and artists! We are officially open for submissions for our Fall Issue! Head to the link in our bio to send us your work through Submittable. Our deadline is September 1st. We are all looking forward to creating another exciting edition with talented writers and artists! ✨ We are so excited to finally introduce the Ignatian’s spectacular staff of Spring 2023! We are halfway through the semester and they have been working so hard to bring you some exciting things at the end of the semester! 👏 WordNight is tonight! 🎉 Today, in the Maier Room at Fromm Hall, USF undergraduate and graduate students will take to the stage and share their written work from 6-8 pm! Come support the writers in our community while we sell some baked goods and announce that we are OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS! To continue our ✨Staff Picks✨ is our amazing Design Chair and Poetry Assistant Editor, Egan! This is what they had to say about their awesome pick: 📣 Calling all USF students! We are happy to share that USF’s Lyricist Lounge, which is a student-run and student-centered mic night, is creating an anthology of written works and visual arts by student writers and artists! The last day to submit your work is Saturday, April 1st. The submission form is linked in our bio. Next up on our ✨Staff Picks✨ are Jordan and Bella! Excited to announce that we will be having a Boba Fundraiser tomorrow, March 2nd, in front of Lo Schiavo from 11 to 2! ✨ Come get your boba fix! 🧋 We’ll also be handing out some of our awesome stickers! We are excited to announce that we will begin sharing book recommendations from our very own Ignatian Staff! To kickstart our ✨ Staff Picks ✨ is one of our editors-in-chief, Ari! Here’s what he had to say about his staff pick, Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake: USF’s Department of English is hosting a Writers of Discontent event on Constituting Censorship! We would love to have you join us today, February 15 from 5-7 pm PST on Zoom, to listen to other writers speak on the recent increase in censorship that removes books about racial and LGBTQIA+ issues. The event is free and open to the public and the link to register is in our bio. Hope to see you there!
