Written by Gordon Getty, famous businessman and son of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, this poem appeared in the 1953 issue of SFQ. Getty described himself as a “devotee of the arts,” on the magazine’s “contributor’s page.” Getty, now a philanthropist, is a substantial donor to USF, his alma mater.
